RETREAT CHALLENGES

CHALLENGE NO 1

Those of you who indicated on your EOI that you would like to participate in the challenge will have received a fat 1/8^th of fabric to incorporate into this block. Thank you Spotlight Cairns for sponsoring this fabric.

This is to be a 12 and a half inch (12” finished) block, depicting your version of

“Reef & Rainforest”

The blocks are to be handed in at registration on the first day and will be judged over the weekend. You may use whatever method you wish, pieced, appliquéd, whole cloth, embellished - whatever takes your fancy.

The blocks are to be donated to the Committee who has promised to turn them into lap quilts for aged persons’ homes in FNQ.

CHALLENGE NO 2

To make an apron, any design you fancy, but it must have your interpretation of our theme “Some like it Hot and Tropical” as featured on the front page of our blog.

The aprons are to be handed in at registration on the first day and will be judged over the weekend.  They can be collected on the last day, so make sure you have a label with your name on it.

CHALLENGE NO 3

This is to showcase any old aprons still in the family somewhere - the older the better.  So get looking in amongst Granny’s linen cupboard and see what you can find.  The older the better!!

Once again, aprons are to be labelled and handed in at registration on the first day and collected at the end of the retreat.
